Recommended Books on Lucid Dreaming Creative Dreaming by Patricia Garfield, (Simon and Schuster, 1974), regularly reprinted in paperback, remains the best overall introduction to the fascinating field of lucid dreaming. Kilton Stewart's seminal essay, "Dream Theory in Malaya," outlining the lucid dream practices of the Senoi people, is available in Charles Tart's excellent anthology, Altered States Of Consciousness, published by Doubleday. Many of the Tibetan materials have been translated into English and are fairly readily available. In my view, the best is Teachings of Tibetan Yoga, translated and annotated by Garma C.C. Chang (University Books, 1963). Related material is also available in Tibetan Yoga and Secret Doctrines by W. Y. Evans-Wentz, (Oxford University Press, 1935), with many reprints and a paperback edition still in print.
